Tallahassee and Florida Caverns State Park with the Kennedy's

I spent the weekend traveling with Jackson Kennedy.  We didn't go far, but we still had a great time and saw amazing things in our wonderful state of Florida.  On Friday, October 13th, Jackson and I left school a little early and headed to Tallahassee with his parents and brother.  Our only agenda there was to see the state capitol building and the replica liberty bell.  We toured the original state capitol building, now a museum, that shows what it looked like in 1902.

After this visit to the capitol, we headed to the Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna, FL.  We set up our tent and went to sleep to rest for a full day of exploring on Saturday.  The next morning we toured the caverns.  They are limestone caves that have stalagmites, stalactites and flowstones formed by the erosion of bedrock.  So cool to see!

We walked a few trails before renting a canoe to float on the Chipola River.  After the journey upstream we were rewarded by the clear blue Blatzell Spring.  Jackson jumped in with his father into the freezing cold water to experience the crystal clear views.  The park was amazing!  I totally enjoyed my weekend with the Kennedy family!
