Jose the Bear Goes to Spring Training!

Jose the Bear had a wonderful time with his buddy, Bryce, visiting several baseball teams for spring training.  Jose started his journey out in Orlando, seeing the Braves vs. Yankees.  In addition, Jose went to an Orlando Magic basketball game.  It was a great game!

Next, we journeyed down to Clearwater to see the Phillies vs. Orioles.  We had great seats along the first baseline and took a swim after the game at the condo we were staying at.

Finally, we wrapped up in Ft. Myers to see the Red Sox vs. Cubs!  This was a special visit as we know someone that works for the Red Sox.  Jose and Bryce got to hit in the Red Sox batting cages and meet some of the players.

Jose had a wonderful time and we were glad he could come with us!

Jose Goes to NYC

From November 30th - December 3rd, I visited New York City with Charlotte Smith's family and Peyton + Avery Hoover's family. It was fun riding on the airplane with Charlotte. We were snuggling and she fell asleep on me :)

After we checked into our hotel, we took a walk through Times Square. There were so many bright lights and screens, tall buildings and LOTS of people!! After dinner and a long day, we were all ready for bed!

The next morning, we rode an underground train called the subway. Many people in NYC don't have cars and use the subway to get from place to place. The subway took us down to the World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial. We learned about the significance of the Memorial, and couldn't believe how high the World Trade Center buildings went to the sky. Afterwards, we walked to a park overlooking the water to view the Statue of Liberty.

That night, we had dinner at a cool place called Ninja New York. The entire restaurant looked like a ninja village. The waiters were dressed as ninjas, and even performed ninja tricks!

On Saturday, we went to Rockefeller Center. We saw a giant Christmas tree and an ice skating rink. Some of the group went ice skating for the first time! After some shopping at the Lego and American Girl stores, I went back to the hotel while everyone else saw The Gazillion Bubble Show. We didn't want me to get messy from all the bubbles!

On our last day, we went to Central Park. It's a huge park right in the middle of the city. After enjoying hot chocolates, we walked around the park and saw lots of trees, big rocks, playgrounds and horse carriages. Charlotte picked out a Statue of Liberty figure for me to keep as a memory from my trip. Everyone was sad to say goodbye, but we had so much fun visiting New York City!

Tallahassee and Florida Caverns State Park with the Kennedy's

I spent the weekend traveling with Jackson Kennedy.  We didn't go far, but we still had a great time and saw amazing things in our wonderful state of Florida.  On Friday, October 13th, Jackson and I left school a little early and headed to Tallahassee with his parents and brother.  Our only agenda there was to see the state capitol building and the replica liberty bell.  We toured the original state capitol building, now a museum, that shows what it looked like in 1902.

After this visit to the capitol, we headed to the Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna, FL.  We set up our tent and went to sleep to rest for a full day of exploring on Saturday.  The next morning we toured the caverns.  They are limestone caves that have stalagmites, stalactites and flowstones formed by the erosion of bedrock.  So cool to see!

We walked a few trails before renting a canoe to float on the Chipola River.  After the journey upstream we were rewarded by the clear blue Blatzell Spring.  Jackson jumped in with his father into the freezing cold water to experience the crystal clear views.  The park was amazing!  I totally enjoyed my weekend with the Kennedy family!
